Subject: Suspension of Academic and Administrative Activities on 31/07/2026 due to Heavy Rainfall and Red Alert.
In view of the continuous torrential rains, severe waterlogging across several areas of Surat, and the Red Alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the competent authority of Sarvajanik University has decided to suspend all academic and administrative operations for safety reasons.
Accordingly, Sarvajanik University and all its constituent colleges/departments shall remain closed Tomorrow, Friday, July 31, 2026. It may be noted that the leave will be adjusted against other declared holiday.
Classes & Examinations: All scheduled offline classes stand suspended. However, online classes shall be arranged, wherever feasible, as per the regular timetable to ensure continuity of academic activities. Faculty members shall inform the concerned students in advance regarding the online mode of instruction through the appropriate communication channels. Information regarding any scheduled examinations or external assessments will be communicated separately by the respective department heads.
Essential Services: Security, maintenance, and emergency response staff shall report to duty as per their schedules or emergency instructions.
All students, faculty, and staff members are strongly advised to remain indoors, avoid commuting through waterlogged zones, and strictly adhere to safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
